Vitasha owns a modest piece of land where she lives with her husband and child.  She grows a variety of crops for her family and for trade.  She also has honeybee hives and collects the honey for both food use as well as mead making.  Her mother’s family is from Gotland and believes in the old gods and the Norse traditions.  Her father’s family came from Birka two generations ago with Prince Rurik.  They adopted Christianity and the traditions and modest dress of the Rus in Kiev.  For special occasions, Vitasha can be found wearing the latest Kievan fashions.  At other times, she can be found wearing the dress of her motherland which may include a lack of head covering.  Scandalous!

I joined the SCA in 1990 when I discovered the Shire of Wintermist through the local college.  I was very involved in the Shire until 2001 when my husband and I moved briefly to the Kingdom of the West.  A few years later, we returned to Caid and are happy to call the Barony of Gyldenholt our new home.

Star gazer lilies.  I also have several food allergies including wheat, rice, soy, raw tree nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc.), watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, mango, papaya, avocado, raw bananas, raw carrots, and broccoli.

Foods: Fresh fruit (berries, cherries, pears, oranges, peaches, figs, dates, Fuyu persimmons, red seedless grapes, physalis), meat, cheese, yogurt, mushrooms, dill pickles, olives, chocolate (especially dipped strawberries), caramelized onions, custards, and oat flour shortbread.

Colors: Jewel tones (medium to dark red, blue, purple, green).

Foods: Organ meats, preserved meats, most fish, asparagus, eggplant, spicy food, raw onions, black licorice, aniseed, caraway, and fennel.

Colors: Yellow, orange, or pink
